Lake Orlando Golf Club, CLOSED 2015

It is off the beaten path and probably was a nice course at one time. It is not a destination course or tourist attraction. It is, however, the cheapest golf you can play in Orlando. As a twosome we started around 3 and were done by 6 despite the course being pretty full. The greens were okay, but they were winter overseed so I can not say how they'd be the rest of the year. The fairways provided a decent and fair lie. It is an older and has not been maintained to the highest standards allowing for trees to over-grow and encroach. A couple of holes do not provide an adequate landing area off the tee because of this.

Fun, but difficult

I've playedit for 30 yrs, and it is a good value. Use to have nice restaurant and club house, but owners let it go down. Has nice new club house now. Golf course has undergone changes through the years, and needed work, however now it is in good shape. You face water on every hole somewhere. Also some holes are very tight.

Course had avery nice layout. Lots of water to challenge the average player (which I am). Lots of trouble to find. At this price the course was a steal, but course conditions were less than spectacular. Not awful like any dogtrack, but not great, bordering on average, which just wasn't expected playing in Orlando. Compared to the $175 and $250 courses, this was a bargain, but back home this was just an average $30 for an average round. Had to drive a little to get there, but it was worth the trip. I know that this sounds like a mixed review and it is to a point, but the bottom line is, for the price I would absolutely play it again, the course was nice, just needed a bit more upkeep.
